Welcome to an elegant bathroom in a turn-of-the-century historic home!
This bathroom is shared by two teenage sisters, so it was really fun to collaborate and hear their vision for what this bathroom could become. It was even more fun to help bring it to life!
Because we wanted to stay true to the time period in which this bathroom came from, there are several elements that we worked with to keep some of that charm. We worked around the radiator cover to fit that into the space and also kept the thick trim throughout. We also chose chrome fixtures that also would have been accurate to that time period. It also adds a little bit of extra glam to the space.
Next to the tub, we added a stand up shower. It features a porcelain tile that was made to look like marble. Because it isn’t marble, it’s actually more durable and easier to maintain, but it still adds a classic look.
Behind the shower, we added a slipper tub, along with a niche above it for shower essentials, candles, or anything else the girls need for a relaxing moment in the tub.
The girls had a need for a lot of storage, so we addd a stand-up pantry to the right of the vanity. We chose a lighter countertop to the vanity, and, for some added contrast, included dark oil-rubbed bronze mirror.
To tie the space together, we added a transitional light fixture.
And, for the best feature of all, the blush color makes the whole space pop and contrasts nicely with the porcelain floor tile. This bathroom is both elegant and youthful, with a girly feel for these two sweet sisters.
