The Mermaid Bathroom

We love it when clients have a feeling they want to convey in a project. This client wanted the bathroom to feel like a Caribbean escape with some natural elements included in the design. While there was an obvious theme to this project, we didn’t want it to go over the top.

To tie in the natural elements the client envisioned, we chose a luxury material for the floor of the bathroom - it’s fully made of sliced pebbles! Each stone is different and looks so beautiful underfoot.

In the shower, we went with a soaker tub with a stand-up shower. There are two glass doors that open out completely so that the client wouldn’t feel boxed in while taking a bath. We also chose this beautiful wall tile that is made of different variations of glass. Framed around the feature tile of the shower is an elongated white subway tile. We also used the glass tile at the back of the shampoo niche. You’ll notice the namesake of the bathroom lives on that niche!

To tie into the beautiful colors of the glass tile, we chose a subtle blue for the main walls of the bathroom. We wanted to keep the fixtures classic and modern, so we chose chrome fixtures throughout.

Because this space wasn’t big enough for two full sinks, we decided to use a trough-style sink with two faucets. This way, two people can still use the sink at the same time without devoting a large space to two separate sinks. This is a great option for saving space.
